Sworn translation of a divorce judgment
A judgment may be lengthy, and translating only the operative part is not always sufficient. A civil registry, court or other authority decides whether it needs the full decision, proof that it is final, an additional European certificate or a combination of these documents.
What must be visible in the file
- All pages in their original order
- The operative part and date of the decision
- Seal, signature or verification code
- Certificate of finality or equivalent document, when available
Validity and format
The judgment itself does not normally expire, but the authority may request a recently issued authentic copy or current evidence of finality. An apostille or legalization is not automatically required in every case.

It may be used for proving the dissolution of a marriage in civil, registry or court matters.

How to request an assessment
State the country of the court and the intended use in Spain. If the receiving body has requested specific pages, attach that request as well so that the scope can be defined.
